You can help make a difference in your child’s educational experience by volunteering to become a Class Parent. Class Parents at Ocean Avenue have important responsibilities, which include:
- Assisting teachers in organizing and running class parties and events - ensuring that all children have a positive experience.
- Maintaining an Emergency Contact Form for each student.
- Working with other Class Parents to provide refreshments (including set-up and clean-up) for one PTA meeting (a schedule will be set up by the Chairperson)
Additionally, Class Parents MUST:
- Be paid PTA Members for the 2011-2012 school year.
- Attend at least two PTA meetings
- Volunteer for at least one other PTA event during the school year.
If you are interested in volunteering to be a class parent, please complete the form (pdf format) and return it to the PTA Mailbox in the Main Office marked “Attn: Class Parents Committee,” by Wednesday, September 14, 2011.
If you are chosen to be a class parent, we will notify you, and ask you to attend a meeting of all class parents and teachers to discuss plans for the school year.
